Robert Lohman Indiana (1919 - 2001) abstract allegorical scene oil on masonite Signed and dated lower right. This item requires local pickup or third party shipping. Lohman studied at John Herron Art Institute, and Cranbrook and Yale for graduate work. Assisted Carl Milles at Cranbrook Academy before becoming Director of Fine Arts there from 1947-49. Also taught at Washington U. in St. Louis, and the Indianapolis Art League for 10 years. Teachers include: Maija Grotell and Gaetano Cecere. Among his many accomplishments as an artist, he designed the medal for the Indy 500 Pacemaker Club, 1965, and the medal to represent the US at the Exposition Internationale de la Medaille in Athens, 1966. 55 3/4"H x 75 1/2"H (frame)
